Parc volunteers

Hello to all our supporters. As most of you know I have tried to take some time off due to ill health and family bereavement. The team have worked very hard trying to keep work away from me. Sue our secretary, had taken on a lot of my role. Unfortunately and very sadly Sue too has had a family bereavement so she has had to return to the UK very suddenly. I have therefore had to take back some of the work but the rest of the team are still working extremely hard. The phones are being manned 6 days per week by members of the team and of course Pam is carrying a lot too. We are all doing our bit in these difficult times.
I have to say that this is the first time that I have had to take a step back and ask for help. After 8 years I dont think that unreasonable and of course I am very grateful to everyone who has stepped in to help. I was however, somewhat shattered even further at the weekend when someone said they had heard that I was not involved with Parc anymore. Parc has been my life for 8 years. I started it and I have no intention of walking away from it. I do need a break and I am trying to stand back from the front line which I need to do for a while. However, I am still actively involved in direct work with the animals and I am available to support the team of volunteers. I felt it necessary to put this into print as I know how quickly rumors spread. I hope this clarifies the situation somewhat. I also hope that people will appreciate that everyone is doing their best but we are not the RSPCA and we cannot even hope to meet everyone's expectations. We are all unpaid volunteers who do our very best to help animals in need. My sincere thanks to all our supporters. Ruth
