Just for a change I am sending a picture of me and Lionel. We arrived in Sydney last night after a splendid flight. I will be in e mail contact so no problem if anyone needs to contact me.
Parc may need a foster home for two lovely little dogs. They are only the size of yorkshire terriers and they have full British pet passports. They can fly to the UK in April but their owner is having trouble raising the money and may have to put them up for re homing. If anyone can help us out and offer to care for them until they can fly it would be great. If they can't go to UK we will have no problem finding forever homes for these super little dogs. E mail me please on ruth.parc@gmail.com if you can help. Thank you

Having fun in Germany

This is a picture of one of our dear little dogs. His owners reluctantly put him up for re homing as they already had two dogs and their landlord would not let them keep three in the Villa. They adored this little fellow because they had had him since birth. In fact they saved his life as he wasnt breathing when he was born. He is now having great fun with his new family. Our thanks to Eve (Cydra) Eve and the Cydra team work so hard to help Parc and other organisations find good homes outside Cyprus.

White cat, male.

We have a 5 year old white cat in our pens. He is very friendly has been neutered and vaccinated. He had a road traffic accident last week and we have been caring for him. He is making a good recovery and could go to a forever home. He has been living at Ann's house but we feel he would be better in a quieter setting after all the trauma. If you can help call Ann on 99450883 or Pam on 99059068 Thanks.
ps Ruth is in Australia until the 20th March so it will be a reduced service.

Lovely long haired grey kitten.

Lovely friendly male kitten aged 3 months approx. Very friendly, will have his first vaccine tomorrow. If you can offer a home to this gorgeous little boy telephone June at Polis Animal Rescue on 99205752

Will your cat accept another one?

This is Fifi with her new friend. Her new Mum and Dad Debbie and Giannis came to us on Saturday looking for a kitten. As this is not kitten season we offered them a selection of young adult cats and they fell in love with Fifi because she was so loving. They were worried about their kitten cat who is male and about 7 months old. He is very spoilt as he was rescued when he was 3 weeks old (he had fallen down a well). However, Debbie took our information leaflet that advises about how to introduce another cat and she followed the instructions to the letter swopping blankets and toys. They introduced the two of them properly last night and the spoilt little boy is in love that is clear from the picture and from what Debbie has said see below:
Just a quick note to let you know we introduced Fifi to Lucky last night. He hissed and growled a little but was more curious than anything. After about an hour the hissing stopped and he would not leave her alone - he follows her everywhere!!

Believe it or not, it looks like FIFI will be the boss, he just follows her around like a lovesick puppy and she lets him, but smacks him now and again when his constant sniffing gets too much for her. No claws though, just a slap on the nose.

Just to prove a point she now goes to the toilet in HIS litter box, but slaps him when he goes anywhere near hers! And she eats from his bowl, and naps in his bed too!!

Today he didn't eat his breakfast as he was to excited to see Fifi and they have spent all day playing - now they are both fast asleep and exhausted and it's only their first full day together.........I think they will be great friends.

Well done Debbie, Giannis, Lucky and Fifi x

A tiny puppy found.

A tiny 4 week old puppy has just been found near the stadium in Peyia. She looks to be a little Collie type. She is going for Vet check first thing in the morning and then will be needing a foster home or even better a forever home. If you are interested then give us a call.Star has now had a Vet checked and her first vaccine. She is very healthy and thriving. She is now developing a fluffy coat so looks as though she will be quite long haired. She has small paws so may not be very big. She is a delight. If you are looking for a lovely natured puppy then call us quickly as she will be in great demand.
GREAT NEWS STAR HAS NOW BEEN HOMED IN GERMANY. OUR THANKS TO CYDRA AND OUR GERMAN FRIENDS.

Great news!

This week we have found good homes for 7 older cats. Believe me that is an incredible achievement as so many want baby kittens. It is not kitten season they are just about to be born so we wont have any tiny kittens for another 6 to 8 weeks. However, we do have many cats aged between 6 months and a year old and these make wonderful pets. Also, by this time they will have had all their vaccinations and been spayed or neutered. After a week of staying indoors they can live outdoors providing they have shelter, good food and are treated regularly for parasites. They will catch mice and kill snakes as well as giving you lots of love. If you would like to offer a home to an older cat that give us a call.

Here is a picture of Lucky my black kitten with her new Mum.

A big thank you to Argos Animal Shelter

This beautiful cat needed a home away from Paphos. I was very worried that he would return to a home where he had been badly abused. I spoke with Mary (Cyprus Voice for Animals) and also with Stella who runs Argos Animal Shelter near Ayia Napa. She understood the problem I had and very kindly agreed to take Buster into the shelter until a home could be found for him. Lionel, Clare and I drove him there today. He was not amused with the journey but I am sure he was delighted with the reception he received and the facilities at Argos. What lovely people and what splendid facilities for the dear animals. All the dogs and cats looked really well cared for. What an incredible resource, it is a credit to everyone involved. I am so pleased to have the opportunity to work with so many like minded people who really care about the animals. A big thank you to everyone who helped us with Buster. If anyone is looking for a pet in the Larnaka area then please go and visit Argos they have lovely cats and dogs available and you will be made very welcome.
Buster would very much like to be offered a forever home. He is a lovely cat with a nice nature, gets on well with other cats, has been vaccinated and neutered. He is about 18 months old. He has suffered a horrendous experience recently but has come through it well and will make a wonderful pet. You can call Stella on 99326045 or me on 99961157. Thank you Stella and Mary for all your help and support.

A good day today!

I am delighted to say we have secured 2 wonderful homes for 2 special cats today. My little black kitten rescued from the Monastery has been offered a home with Tina and John. They came to see her today and have promised to take her when she is fully recovered from her cat flu. She is making excellent progress (so she should with all the tender love and care she is getting from me)Anyway I am confident that she will go to her new home early next week.
Also Custard the gorgeous long haired cat (badly injured 2 months ago) has now been offered a forever home. One of our supporters thought he might be happy with her Mum and it was love at first sight for both.
A great achievement. Saving one is magic saving two in one day is pure heaven. Thank you to all the people that support Parc and help us provide the care necessary to get these little ones better.

Little black kitten

Yesterday we were called to ask to help a little black kitten that had been dumped at the Monastery. She is very sweet and friendly but is very sick. She was taken to Dr. Maria and as she had the Virus which kills cats and kittens very quickly and is very contagious we couldnt put her with any other cats. Consequently she is currently in quarantine in my bedroom. She is, as you would expect, being treated like Royalty and I am hopeful she will make a full recovery. In this event Parc will vaccinate and spay her but we would like to think we could find her a home to save her returning to the Monastery. Although they get well fed at the Monastory it is not the same as having a one to one home and this wee one has the sweetest nature. I havent taken her photograph yet(now added) as her little eyes are very runny and her nose is sore. She is having to be fed with a srynge but she is accepting everything I do for her, clearly she appreciates home comforts. If you would like a black kitten then please give me a call.

Kitty to Newbury, UK

Dear Kitty left Cyprus for her new life in the UK today. She was rescued last March after birthing 5 babies in the garden of a holiday Villa. Caroline and her partner cared for the little family and became very fond of Kitty. They asked Parc to help her and her babies. We took them in the pens, found homes for all the little ones and then asked Dr. Maria to foster Kitty. Caroline had agreed to meet the cost of all her vaccines and flight if we could take care of her.
After 7 months she has now joined Caroline and her family. Kitty arrived safely had a good meal enjoyed the fuss she was getting and then sorted the dogs out. Another good job done. We wish Kitty and her forever family all the best.
