This one is a real cutie. There are 5 puppies believed to be Lab x pointer. Two lovely adult cats need a home. They have been abandoned by their owner (what's new?) They are lovely cats both neutered, vaccinated and friendly. They can live indoors our outdoors. Please consider giving these two older cats a home. All they need is dried food and a little shelter they will live happily on a patio and will keep all the snakes and rats at bay.

Pure white kitten

As you know we have lots of kittens that need a home. However, we have one very special one. He is about 8 weeks old, pure white with blue eyes so there is a possibility he may be deaf. This is the first pure white kitten this year which is unusual so I guess they are becoming more rare here. If he is deaf he will cope but could be he would benefit from a home off the beaten track or with someone who would be prepared to keep him as an indoor cat. If you can offer him the right environment then contact us.

Another older cat comes back!

This is C4. His owner died 2 years ago and he came to Parc. We found him a lovely home. You guessed it: his new owner returned to the UK and he came back to us. He grieved all over again. Last year we found him another wonderful home and he settled in very quickly enjoying all the love and attention. A home for life we thought. Sadly no. His owners have returned to the UK and although they are taking their two dogs with them they can't wait for C4 as he has no passport. He is now grieving for the third time in 2 years. Please, please, please will someone consider giving this lovely older gentleman a forever home. He gets on with other cats and will live with dogs once he gets used to them.If you can give C4 the love he deserves then please contact us.

A happy story!

THIS IS HENRI IN THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE. DO YOU THINK HE IS WONDERING WHAT GRASS IS?
AT LEAST HE WON'T COME ACROSS POISON THERE.

This is Henri. We found him a home when he was a puppy. Sadly he was re homed again when his owners went back to the UK. The couple who took him came to see me in January and they too were returning to the UK and could not manage to take him with them. Henri was facing time in the refuge. We decided to take him back and try and find him a home either in Germany or the UK as we didnt want to risk him being abandoned a third time.
Our wonderful supporter Jo and her partner Andy offered to take him and after 7 months in foster care he went to his forever home last Saturday. It is a tremendous committment for Parc as we have to find a foster home willing to provide him with care. Special thanks to Mike and Tricia who did this wonderful job. Henri is now very happy in the Derbyshire Countryside, running free and making lots of new friends.
It is sad that people who take dogs in Cyprus don't plan ahead and have their pets passported. It is not expensive it is just so difficult if they have to return suddenly. Everyone says they will not return to the UK but financial pressure and family commitments often result in them leaving without their pets. Parc like all the other animal organisations are having endless referrals from people who cannot take them home. One dog was found in an apartment recently with no food and no water. His owners had just left him. Another one said they would throw him out of the car on the way to the airport. This is real. We try and Vet homes but we are not mind readers, we can only do our best at the time. We stress to anyone taking an animal from us to get their animal passported.

Necklace!

I Have just taken the necklace down to the jeweller here in Cyprus. She said this would cost more that 2700 euros here if it was in a shop for sale. She said the scrap value of the gold (it is hallmarked 22 carot) is 900 euros alone. Clearly it is a very good buy. She said it is a very good investment. So come on folks chat up the other half and go for it.
See the link for Ebay on below the picture.
Sadly we didnt sell the necklace on ebay so we are going to try the local jeweller in Coral Bay to see if they will sell it on commission for us. Fingers crossed it is a lovely piece.

Too many cats and kittens!

Although we have found homes for 5 kittens since Saturday we are still full to bursting. Sadly we simply cannot take any more. I am taking calls morning noon and night from people trying to off load tiny babies, young cats and older cats. I hear their distress when I say we have no room and it really hurts. Unfortunately, it is a fact of life. We cannot take healthy feral cats even though they are friendly. If we had more foster homes we could take more but our pens are full, our foster homes are full and Ann (deputy for Parc) has taken in nine more residents this year which we have no hope of moving on because they are now past the baby stage. I have five new babies in my group and Clare has five with her. These are ina ddition to those with us for homing.
Please understand it hurts us to say no but we simply have to. Parc predominantly helps sick and injured animals and tiny babies. Occasionally we have to stretch this and we will if we can. We never refuse to treat a sick or injured animal no matter what the cost is but we are not a "shelter". We carry out a trap neuter and release programme and are spaying over 200 cats per year. We care for more than 120 animals each day that means that we feed, vaccinate, and treat all these animals for parasites on a regular basis. We try and explain that we are not the RSPCA. We have niether the staff nor the resources to deal with everything that comes to our attention. We work tirelessly, man our phones 24 x 7 days per week, use our own vehicles at our expense and deal with as many emergencies as we can. So when we have to say no it is because we have reached saturation point. Very sad but true.
Thank you to all our supporters without your help we could not do what we do.

A beautiful necklace for sale.

Karen and Terry, two wonderful Parc supporters have very kindly donated this beautiful, valuable necklace to Parc. It has been offered for sale on Ebay the sale started last night. It has a valuation for insurance purposes of 2700 pounds sterling. It is absolutely stunning. The jeweller who did the valuation said there had been tremendous work involved and it is a one off item. The reserve price on ebay is 600 pounds sterling.Paul Mew has kindly put the necklace on his site.
We are hoping some kind person will buy this for a loved one. By doing this you surely make a good investment for the future, gain browny points from the wife or girl friend and help us to help animals in need.

Little dog homed by Parc

This little one was found in Paphos. She is about 8 months old and found to be pregnant already. Thankfully she has been fostered by Ann and her husband who are simply wonderful, they always find room for one more to help us out. We have now secured a forever home and she will go to her new home next week. I hope she will have a long and happy life.

Little Ozzie now has a wonderful home.

This is Ozzie, the dear little black poodle puppy that was found in a rubbish bin in Limassol. He could well have been crushed to death. However, Paul found him and referred him to Parc. We are delighted to say that this wonderful little dog has now got a home for life with our wonderful Veterinary Dr. Maria and her family. Ozzie is already completely at home. He loves Dr. Maria and her children following them around like a lamb. A heartwarming story.

Taking animals to the UK from Cyprus

I have just had a message on my blog asking about exporting a cat to the UK. Basically it is not difficult and not too expensive. However, it is time. We have exported a number of animals this year for people who needed help. Here at Parc we are a non profit making organisation and we do all the work for free(this involves us taking the cat to and from the Veterinary and transporting to the airport etc). The people who want the animal must be prepared to pay for the vaccines, microchip, blood test and flight. A cat will cost about 200 euros for the vaccines etc and a flight is about 500 euros so all told a cat is about 700 euros. The big problem however is having the cat cared for until he or she can fly. Although we have some cats and dogs that we already care for that could be exported, if you want your cat or dog exported you will need to pay for kennel care. We do foster animals if we are able to but places are very limited. We have a mother cat that was found near a holiday villa with her five babies recently. The people staying in the villa for one week were very fond of her and said they would pay to have her flown to England. She has been fostered with Dr. Maria and the lovely couple are paying for the cost of treatment and vaccines. Clearly we cant do this often because we havent got enough foster homes. If anyone wants to know more details they can e mail me on ruthmew1@cytanet.com.cy to get more information. Thank you.
