One of the groups we care for in Peyia.

This is one of the groups Parc are responsible for. All the cats and kittens in this picture are fed twice daily, neutered, vaccinated and treated for parasites on a regular basis. They enjoy life to the full. Our oldest cats have lived here for over 5 years. There are 3 new babies in this group. Two of them were rescued from an Army camp were they were being abused by some of the youngsters. They were full of fleas and ticks and had very bad earmites and worms. They are now beautiful healthy cats. Although they are free cats they have lots of warm shelter. Any sickness or injury is dealt with immediately. All bar two of them are friendly and easily handled. Two of them are more suspicious but can be handled when necessary. If all the cats in Cyprus could have a life like this we would be very happy indeed.
Good news! We have 3 kittens going to new homes on Saturday. Bad news! We need good homes for lots more. Help us if you can. Telephone Ruth on 99961157.

Black poodle puppy just arrived.

This gorgeous puppy is in need of a home. He was found in a cardboard box in Limassol. He has been fostered with a family who have both dogs and cats and he has coped really well. He has a super temperament and will make a lovely pet. The black poodle pups are very sought after and he will go very quickly. If you are interested in offering him a good forever home then call Ruth on 99961157. Thank you.

GREAT NEWS OZZIE HAS LANDED ON FOUR PAWS! HE HAS SECURED A FOREVER HOME WITH OUR WONDERFUL VETERINARY DR. MARIA AND HER FAMILY. HE WILL HAVE THE BEST POSSIBLE FUTURE. THIS LITTLE BOY WAS FOUND IN A CARDBOARD BOX IN A RUBBISH BIN. WHAT ON EARTH ALLOWS PEOPLE TO DO SUCH TERRIBLE THINGS. HE COULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED TO DEATH. THANK GOD PAUL HEARD HIS CRIES, RESCUED HIM AND CALLED PARC. HE HAS NOW BEEN BATHED AND GROOMED. HE LOOKS PURE BRED FRENCH POODLE. HE WOULD HAVE COST A FORTUNE IN BRITAIN. NOW HE AND HIS NEW HOME IS PRICELESS. RESCUING DOGS LIKE OZZIE AND BUBBLES MAKE MY DAY. ME AND THE TEAM GET DESPERATELY TIRED BUT JOB SATISFACTION IS WORTH FAR MORE THAN A SALARY. JUST AS WELL!

Tiny babies.

Please please help! We have so many tiny baby kittens and are in great need of good homes.Other organisations ask for huge donations if you want a kitten. Here at Parc our priority is a good home for our dear little babies. We will happily give you a kitten for free providing you promise to take care of him/her, vaccinate and neuter when the time is right. All our animals are vet checked and healthy. If you can't take one you can sponsor an animal or foster. Parc are fully responsible for all costs when one of our animals is fostered out. We can use foster homes for short or long periods. Please telephone Ruth on 99961157 if you can help. Thank you.
DELIGHTED TO SAY THAT WE HAVE FOUND HOMES FOR FIVE OF OUR BABIES THIS WEEKEND. ONLY FIFTEEN LEFT. COME ON FOLKS THEY ARE GORGEOUS.

Babe and Jessie arrive at their new home.

If you scroll down through the list you will see stories of Babe and Jessie. Both have now arrived in Germany. Their new owners are delighted with them and they will have lots of love for the rest of their lives. Babe was a very neglected little puppy we thought she might die because she was so heavily infested with fleas and ticks. However, after lots of care from Dr. Maria, her foster carers, (she had to have 3 homes while we worked to get her fit and healthy) she was finally chosen by a family in Germany and thanks to Cydra who organised all the flights etc she has now arrived.
Jessie is a lovely little Cyprus poodle x. Her owner had to return to UK suddenly due to a serious illness so Parc helped by finding her a foster mother to save her going into the refuge. She had great care from Patricia who absolutely adored her and it was very difficult for her to let her go. Our foster mothers do find it difficult as they become very attached to these dear creatures. However, they do a very important job for Parc. We are not a shelter and we dont want to become a shelter. There are already 2 established shelters in Paphos. Parc do a different job. We specialise in working hard with very tiny babies, puppies and kittens, and animals that are very sick or injured. We place them in foster homes because these little, sick ones would never survive in a refuge and would surely be put to sleep if we didnt help them. Occasionally we stretch matters in situations such as Jessie. She had lived in a home since she was a puppy and it is very difficult for these little dogs to adjust to life in the refuges. Parc do the best we can. We help as many as we can but of course we cannot save them all. One thing we promise is that no animal in our care will be put to sleep. We will work and work until we find them a forever home. Please understand we do not take in healthy strays these must be referred to the refuges. If you would like to support us in our work then please look under the heading To Make A Donation. Also please be aware we are desperate for foster homes at present we have lots of kittens that need a home. Many thanks to all our supporters without you we could not do what we do.

A huge problem

Parc have just had to take in 10 tiny kittens just 4/5 weeks old. They are beautiful, have been Vet checked and are eating and lapping. They also use litter trays. As we already have a large number of kittens we urgently need foster/forever homes for these little ones. Please e mail if you can care for 1 or 2 of these little ones even if it is only for a month or so. Parc are fully responsible financially if you are fostering an animal for us.
Cheers Ruth

2 more babies found a good home

Pleased to say that two little ones have been offered a home together. One was a little tabby kitten abandoned by his mother at 4 weeks old. The other one was the lovely grey and white kitten found at the side of her dead mother. These two little ones clung to each other in their distress after losing their mother. They have now got a home together. They will have a lovely future now.
Also found a forever home for one of our mother cats. We are always pleased to home an adult cat. Venus was found at a holiday Villa with her 5 babies. All have gone to good homes. Venus has gone to a super couple with a big garden. Thanks to those who have offered homes to our cats and kittens. Don't forget all our animals have been Vet checked, vaccinated and neutered.

Very kind people!

Once again we would like to say a big thank you to our supporters. Without you we could not help the huge number of animals we care for.
Special thanks to:
Paul and his family who were on holiday in Coral Bay recently and read about Parc. Sadly I did not get to meet these lovely people. However, they returned to the UK and e mailed me saying they would like to support our work. They have made a very generous donation to Parc and have promised continued support. Every penny donated to Parc goes to help the animals. No one receives payment. Our time is given freely because we care deeply about the animals that need our help. Our accounts are monitored very carefully by our Treasurer Sue and are open to anyone who wishes to see where the money goes. Our main costs are Veterinary bills (dear Dr. Maria works for a pittance too) and food as we now feed in excess of 120 animals each day. We are not a huge organisation we believe in quality not quantity. We wish we could help more animals but we guarantee that any animal referred to us will get the best medical care and good food. Every one is treated for parasites, neutered and fed good food. We cannot do more. A very special thank you Paul for helping us to help many more animals.
Thanks also to Roy and Jen (Bristol). Jen passed on birthday presents so she could save euros for Parc. What treasures you are.
The Village Inn in Kissonerga hold a charity quiz night every Thursday and we have received 350 euros in the past month. Very much appreciated. A great pub with great food and a big heart.
Holly's Restaurant and Crown Resort Spa/Gym provide second hand books to visitors and give the money to Parc. We are very grateful to you too.
Doreen sent us 50 euros to spay a little cat that lives at Ascos Coral Beach Hotel. Thank you again Doreen. Parc have just trapped and neutered 5 females and 3 males from this hotel. There are another 9 kittens there, they will be trapped and neutered when they are big enough.
Thanks also to the Blandford family (Clare and mum and dad), their friends Linda and Pat. Clare is a Dr. working in Cornwall. They have been coming to Cyprus for holidays and have supported Parc for the past 3 years. We took 4 baby kittens from the holiday Villa they were staying in the first year they were here and they have not forgotten. Thank you for remembering and caring.
We continue to do the work because you all help without your help we can't do it. Please accept our sincere thanks.

Don't miss these!

Under the heading 'Make a Donation' you will find a new entry. It is In Memory of Joyce Collins nee Shrimpton.Joyce sadly passed away in December 2008. She had asked her children to make donations to animal charities. Her daughter Joanne and her husband Graham live in Cyprus and have been supporting Parc for over two years. They had told Joyce about the problems facing unwanted homeless animals in Cyprus and they felt she would be happy if they made a donation to Parc in her memory. In July 2009 Joanne and Graham made a very generous (but private) donation to Parc. Although we value every donation we felt it appropriate to do something to show our appreciation and to make sure that Joyce will not be forgotten. Our thanks to Joyce and to her wonderful family. You will not be forgotten.

Under the heading True Stories you will also see a new story about Fido. Fido was rescued by Diane and she wrote the main part of the story about Fido. He is a lovely dog jointly rescued by Diane, Parc, Cydra and our friends in Germany (www.zypernhunde.de) I hope you will enjoy reading this lovely true story.
