Too many cats and kittens!

Although we have found homes for 5 kittens since Saturday we are still full to bursting. Sadly we simply cannot take any more. I am taking calls morning noon and night from people trying to off load tiny babies, young cats and older cats. I hear their distress when I say we have no room and it really hurts. Unfortunately, it is a fact of life. We cannot take healthy feral cats even though they are friendly. If we had more foster homes we could take more but our pens are full, our foster homes are full and Ann (deputy for Parc) has taken in nine more residents this year which we have no hope of moving on because they are now past the baby stage. I have five new babies in my group and Clare has five with her. These are ina ddition to those with us for homing.
Please understand it hurts us to say no but we simply have to. Parc predominantly helps sick and injured animals and tiny babies. Occasionally we have to stretch this and we will if we can. We never refuse to treat a sick or injured animal no matter what the cost is but we are not a "shelter". We carry out a trap neuter and release programme and are spaying over 200 cats per year. We care for more than 120 animals each day that means that we feed, vaccinate, and treat all these animals for parasites on a regular basis. We try and explain that we are not the RSPCA. We have niether the staff nor the resources to deal with everything that comes to our attention. We work tirelessly, man our phones 24 x 7 days per week, use our own vehicles at our expense and deal with as many emergencies as we can. So when we have to say no it is because we have reached saturation point. Very sad but true.
Thank you to all our supporters without your help we could not do what we do.
