Lucky

I seem to have caused confusion about Lucky. People are asking for a picture of Lucky. Here he is and there is information from his foster carers which can be seen below. He is a super little fellow do consider him if you are wanting a little dog that will accept animals and people. Thank you Lucky has been on trial for the weekend and has coped well. He is going to stay overnight with Norman and his little dog and if all goes well Lucky will live up to his name. Lets hope so.

Car Boot/Table Top sale at Holly's Restaurant.

We are planning to hold a sale at Holly's Restaurant on Saturday 10th May. If you would like to reserve a space for a stall the cost will be 10 euros per table and you will need to bring your own table. Parc will need goods to sell so please support us by collecting items for us. If possible can you keep until near the time of the sale as we have real problems trying to store everything. If anyone has any space available for storage we would be very grateful. There is no doubt that we need to raise funds if we are going to continue doing the amount of work we are doing. Our Veterinary bills have been around one thousand pounds per month and we also have huge feed bills now as we are feeding about 100 animals every day. We get great support for events. The Spring Disco was very well supported with over 150 people attending and everyone doing their bit to help. We raised over one thousand euros (the exact amount will be confirmed shortly when everything has been paid out) but even though this was an excellent effort it doesnt even meet our costs for one month. In short we are doing our very best but clearly we are struggling because everything costs so much now. We dont want to have to say no to people when they ask us to help an animal in distress but we are a very small organisation and we do not have the resources that the bigger charities attract. We have the equipment to trap and neuter cats now but every female cat costs over 50 euros. When we are spaying over 300 cats per year it is not difficult to see why we are struggling. So please help us to help animals in need. If you have any ideas of how we can increase our income then please give it a go. Perhaps you can hold a coffee morning or run a raffle for us. One thing is certain with the best will in the world our small team of hands on helpers cant give much more. We need help. Thank you to all those who do help us.

Bubble and Squeak the first kittens of the season

Bubble and Squeak are the first babies available from us this spring. They were dumped at the Veterinary clinic in Peyia in a cardboard box. They were about two to three weeks old. They had clearly been well cared for by their mother and whoever brought them had put them in a warm blanket and left a bottle of milk for them. Ann took them in (thank God for Ann). It is very hard work bottle feeding babies but for sure Ann is the expert and she usually manages to save them. These two have been the best babies she has ever had. They are absolutely delightful. This weekend they have just started eating baby biscuits soaked in the special milk formula and they also started to use the litter tray. They are about four/five weeks old now and could go to a good home shortly. Contact Ruth or Ann if you want these lovely babies.

Young male dog needs a home now.

This young dog is probably a King Charles x. He has the head of a King Charles but has longer legs. He is a small to medium dog. He is quite well behaved. He is being castrated on Tuesday and will be vaccinated. This young fellow has had a number of foster homes recently so he now needs someone who will give him a forever home.

This beautiful dog will be put to sleep next week

Beau was rescued three weeks ago in the Limassol area. He was literally starved. He has been cared for and is now much better but still very thin. If a home cannot be found for him he will have to be put to sleep next week. This dog has suffered terrible abuse at the hands of humans. Probably for the first time in his life he has been shown love and kindness and now those people who have given him love will have to destroy him because there is simply no room for him. Will you please consider giving him a home where he can live out his life without fear? Contact me urgently as he has only days left.
I am very pleased and relieved to say that Sue in Limassol has found Beau a home. Please cross all your fingers and toes for this lovely creature and pray he settles in his new home.

Sasha is home now!

A big big thank you to Val and Peter for giving Sasha a wonderful home. Sasha was left here when her owners returned to the UK (another one!) Well thankfully she landed on her four paws. She is very happy indeed. She follows Peter around like a lap dog and really sulks when she knows he is going out, but she is a good girl and waits patiently for him to return.
Some days I am really unhappy thinking I am fighting a losing battle. Val and Peter you have made today a good day and I really appreciate what you have done for Sasha.
Also many many thanks to my friends and supporters in Limassol who have cared for one of my little dogs. Sue took Buster from me and cared for him for two weeks while I desperately looked for a forever home. He has now got a wonderful forever home with Mary and again I am really pleased that another Parc dog has got a splendid home. It is fantastic that we can all work together to help these dear creatures. Yesterday I took in a dog that has had to have a leg amputated following a road accident. He has been operated on today and I will be looking for a home for him too when he is up on his three legs. I would also like a sponsor as his operation was very expensive so if you would like to sponsor him please let me know.
Sue who cared for Buster has asked me for help with a dear dog that was rescued three weeks ago. He was starved and very sick. He has had love and care for the past three weeks but will be put to sleep next week if a home is not found for him. He is a beautiful pointer dog but still very thin. If you can help give us a call. A picture of him will be available soon.

Cats in Need.

Once again we at Parc are indebted to Sue who manages Cats in Need on the Isle of Man. Cats in Need help cats in Cyprus. They raise funds each year to help all the organisations in Cyprus spay and neuter cats and they provide the much needed equipment. I am pleased to say that we have been presented with another cat restrainer box, a trap and a grasper. Our sincere thanks to you Sue for helping us with this much needed equipment. We are currently struggling to make ends meet with the veterinary, feed and boarding bills so buying equipment is beyond us. We don't know what we would do without you Sue, many thanks indeed. The details about Cats in Need are also on the front page of our website you can contact Sue and make a donation.
We are also in need of good quality goods to sell to help raise funds for Parc. Please contact us if you have any small household goods etc. Thank you

Dog Trainer

Just to express sincere thanks to Lindsay the British trained dog trainer who is now resident in Paphos. You can see details of her on our front page. She recently went to assess one of our dogs that is in long term foster care. In one session Lindsay completely changed the dog. He now knows his place in the house and behaves well when outdoors with his carers. The difference is amazing. Lindsay said he was an Alpha dog that would have been dangerous if he had not been checked. He is now a purring pussy cat. If you are having problems with your dog it is well worth spending the small amount of money out that Lindsay charges. Do give her a call she can work with puppies and older dogs as well as owners.
